From Laid Off to Leveled Up: My Story
Hey, I’m Louise – founder of The Astute Virtual Assistant. (TAVA)
When the pandemic hit, I was laid off. Like so many others, I found myself questioning everything.
I needed to generate income but also craved flexibility, fulfillment, and freedom. So I tried everything from selling children’s clothes to running an online shop… but it just didn’t light me up.
What I really wanted? To work remotely with inspiring people across the world – and build something that made an actual difference.
That’s when I discovered the term “Virtual Assistant.” I didn’t know exactly what they did (cue the frantic Googling!), but it clicked.
With a background in admin, operations, and project coordination, I realized I already had valuable, transferable skills. I enrolled in a VA course, landed my first few clients, and never looked back.
At first, I worked with anyone I could find – but quickly realized that insurance and rigid industries weren’t my jam.
I thrive supporting coaches, consultants, and purpose-driven founders who are building big-hearted businesses and bold ideas.
Now? I help simplify your systems, streamline your operations, and scale your vision – with a little help from automation, no-code tools, and AI.

What started as a solo search for purpose became a business rooted in clarity, systems, and smart support.
